Suzie and Rey had their engagement session photographed at The Forge, a historic restaurant in Miami Beach, Florida, by Acromatico, a family-run South Florida and New York City studio. The shoot took place inside The Forge's VIP wine cellar, a space normally accessible only by private tour.
This engagement session for Suzie and Rey was photographed at The Forge in Miami Beach during Miami Spice season, when the restaurant is featured among South Florida's dining lineup. The couple dressed up for the occasion, trading everyday wear for pearls, vests, and what we called their "fancy shoes."
The highlight was The Forge's historic VIP wine cellar, a room you can normally only enter on a private tour. Rey pulled some strings to get the whole group inside, and the space brought our senses back to Chianti, Italy. We first teased Suzie and Rey with a single photo from the session, and they asked for more, so here are some of our favorites.
“You can only go in there on a private tour, Rey pulled some strings and managed to get us all in there, needless to say we loved it.”
Good to know
The Forge is a long-standing restaurant located in the Mid-Beach area of Miami Beach, Florida, on 41st Street. It is well known for its dining room and its wine cellar, and during Miami Spice, South Florida's annual restaurant promotion held in the late summer, it appears among the participating featured restaurants. The wine cellar at The Forge is a historic, members-and-private-tour space rather than a room open to general walk-in guests.
An engagement session at The Forge trades the usual Miami Beach beach-and-palm backdrop for a more formal, old-world interior. Couples who want to dress up rather than go casual, and who like the idea of a wine-cellar setting, will find it a distinctive alternative to South Florida's outdoor locations. Because cellar access is restricted, plan ahead and coordinate entry directly with the restaurant before booking a shoot there.
