Catherine and Junior had their engagement session at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, photographed by Acromatico, a family-run South Florida and New York City studio that traveled up for the shoot just days after they got engaged.
Acromatico first met Catherine and Junior at one of the studio's recent weddings in New York. Only four days into their engagement, the couple asked, "Hey, do you travel?" — and the answer was simply, "What day do you want us there?" That question is how the studio ended up in Boston for this engagement session. Acromatico, a family-run photography and brand studio working across South Florida and New York City since 2004, regularly travels for clients, and a quick road trip to Boston was an easy yes.
Catherine and Junior chose the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University for their photos, and it turned out to be an easy, breezy, beautiful kind of day. With only a few weeks since the proposal, the couple was already planning their June 2019 wedding in Boston. At the time of this session, that wedding was still upcoming.
“At only 4 days of being engaged, they said "Hey, do you travel?" — Our response: "What day do you want us there?"”
Good to know
The Arnold Arboretum is a 281-acre public botanical garden and research institution owned by Harvard University, located in the Jamaica Plain and Roslindale neighborhoods of Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1872, it is part of Boston's Emerald Necklace, the chain of parks and green spaces designed in collaboration with landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. The grounds are free and open to the public year-round.
The Arboretum's winding paths, mature tree collections, open meadows, and rolling hills give couples a wide range of natural backdrops within a single location, which is why it is a popular choice for engagement sessions in the Boston area. As a working Harvard research collection, it is also a quiet, well-kept setting. Couples planning a session should review the Arboretum's current visitor and photography guidelines, since it is an active public garden and academic institution.
