Tammy + Tay · Cold Spring Engagement | Cold Spring, NY

Acromatico photographed Tammy and Tay's engagement session in Cold Spring, New York, a Hudson River village in Putnam County. After weather delayed the original plans, the couple chose Cold Spring for a warm spring day by the water, ahead of their upcoming wedding.

Acromatico first met Tammy while she was walking a friend's wedding, and a few months later returned to photograph her own engagement session with Tay. The couple had planned the perfect session, but the weather wouldn't cooperate — so the date shifted until one of the warmest spring days arrived. Out of New York's many locations, they narrowed it down to Cold Spring, a longtime favorite of the studio, near the Moo Moo's creamery and the Cold Spring Coffeehouse.

Tammy and Tay were down for anything: they waded into the cold river water over the rubbery rocks, with the photographer joining them, and drew an audience over the course of the spring afternoon. The session, the studio notes, gave off Costa Rica vibes despite being in New York. With the engagement captured, the couple's wedding is still ahead — and Acromatico is set to photograph that next.

“For a second, I forgot I was in NY.”
