When Stephanie and Danny told Acromatico they wanted a Notebook-themed engagement session, the studio was thrilled — it's one of their favorite movies. The couple leaned fully into the romantic, just-like-the-movies concept inspired by Allie and Noah. On picture day it rained, and rather than ruin the shoot, the rain gave the scene its final touch.
The session was a risky one: the team climbed into a canoe with the couple to capture it (the cameras made it back safely). Like the novel that inspired it, the day became a tender nod to the enduring power of love — images meant to take you back to 1946.

Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is a Florida State Park in Fort Lauderdale, set on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Its freshwater lagoon, hammock trails, and canoeing make it one of the few green refuges in the heart of the city — and a natural fit for a water-forward, Notebook-style engagement session.
The park sits just off Fort Lauderdale Beach, so couples can pair a shaded, tree-canopied setting with the nearby coastline. Because it is a managed state park, photography sessions are subject to the park's entry and use policies, and the freshwater lagoon is what makes a canoe portrait like Stephanie and Danny's possible.
