Paige and John are a Pennsylvania couple who flew to Florida for a sunset engagement session on Fort Lauderdale Beach, photographed by Acromatico, a family-run South Florida and New York City studio. The college sweethearts are getting married that September back home in Pennsylvania.
Paige and John met in college back home in Pennsylvania, where John played football. They flew down to Florida to catch some rays and escape the cold, and Acromatico photographed their engagement session at sunset on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
The two are tying the knot that September in Pennsylvania, in the same barn they reconstructed and turned into a reception hall for the celebration.
“After playing hard to get for so long, John finally won her heart.”
Good to know
Fort Lauderdale Beach runs along Florida's Atlantic coast in Broward County, just north of Miami and south of Pompano Beach. The stretch along North Atlantic Boulevard (State Road A1A) is known for its wide open sand, the low signature wave wall that lines the promenade, and clear ocean horizons that make it a popular choice for couples who want a clean, uncrowded backdrop. Because the beach faces east toward the Atlantic, the strongest directional light arrives early; for sunset sessions like Paige and John's, the warm glow comes from behind, lighting the water and sky rather than the open ocean.
For couples traveling in from out of state, the area is easy to reach through Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and the beachfront promenade offers parking, walkable access, and plenty of room to move along the shoreline. Acromatico works across South Florida and New York City, so a destination couple flying in for a Florida shoot is a familiar request.
