Nadine and Ariel are two movie lovers who chose the Miami Beach Cinematheque, an art-house theater devoted to independent films, for their engagement session with Acromatico on October 25, 2011. It was the first time the studio shot a session inside an actual movie theater.
This engagement session was a first for Acromatico: it was the studio's first time photographing an actual session inside a movie theater, and the Miami Beach Cinematheque is no ordinary one. It is an artsy, upscale theater that screens only independent films, a spot Nadine and Ariel, both movie lovers, highly recommend. The couple brought the studio somewhere it had never been before, which is exactly what makes the work exciting.
Acromatico came away very happy with the outcome. Nadine and Ariel made the day a lot of fun, and the studio described them as really great people with loving personalities. As the studio put it: clients who lead them to new places never discovered are part of what keeps the job fresh.
“We love it when clients take us to new places never discovered, it makes our job very exciting.”
Good to know
The Miami Beach Cinematheque is an art-house movie theater in the heart of Miami Beach's historic Art Deco district, in the South Beach area of Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is known as an upscale, artsy venue programming independent and non-commercial films, which makes it a distinctive backdrop for an engagement session built around a couple's shared love of cinema rather than a traditional outdoor or beach location.
An indoor theater session is a controlled-light environment with rich seating, marquee details, and screening-room atmosphere, very different from South Beach's bright open-air settings nearby. Couples drawn to film, design, and the Art Deco character of Miami Beach can pair a Cinematheque session with the surrounding Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue streetscapes. Acromatico, a family-run photography and brand studio founded in 2004 and working across South Florida and New York City, brings a dark fine-art aesthetic well suited to this kind of cinematic, interior-led shoot.
