Paula and Frank held their wedding at The Kampong in Coconut Grove, and it was a gorgeous day in one of Miami's most distinctive garden settings. Acromatico photographed the celebration and shares a set of favorites from the day.
As a family-run studio that has worked across South Florida and New York City since 2004, Acromatico brings its dark, fine-art Brand Studio aesthetic to weddings like this one, where the venue's tropical landscape gives every frame a sense of place.

Good to know
The Kampong is a historic botanical garden in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida, set on the shoreline of Biscayne Bay. It is one of the gardens of the National Tropical Botanical Garden and was once the home of plant explorer David Fairchild, who filled the grounds with tropical and flowering trees collected from around the world. Its name comes from a Malay and Javanese word for a village or cluster of homes.
For a wedding, the estate offers a rare combination in Miami: mature tropical plantings, an open lawn, and direct frontage on the bay, all within a short distance of central Coconut Grove. The Grove itself is one of Miami's oldest neighborhoods, known for its tree-lined streets and waterfront, which gives couples and photographers options for portraits beyond the garden walls.
A waterfront botanical garden rewards a photographer who plans around light and tide. The same Biscayne Bay backdrop reads very differently in midday sun versus the softer hour before sunset, and the density of the tropical canopy creates pockets of shade worth scouting before the ceremony.
