Sofie and Kalle are a Swedish couple who traveled from Sweden to marry on the beach in Hollywood, Florida, bringing their young children along for an intimate destination wedding. Acromatico, a family-run South Florida and New York City studio since 2004, photographed the day despite a light drizzle.
It is not every day that a destination wedding comes to you. Sofie and Kalle made the trip all the way from Sweden to get married on the beaches of Florida, in Hollywood. A drizzle moved through, but nothing stopped these two from saying "I do." It was a sweet, intimate wedding shared with their little ones.
Acromatico genuinely enjoyed working with this lovely Swedish couple and their children. As a family-run studio ourselves, photographing another family who crossed an ocean to be married by the water felt like a natural fit.
“Despite the drizzle, nothing stopped these two from saying "I do."”
Good to know
Hollywood sits in Broward County between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, on Florida's southeastern Atlantic coast. Its best-known feature is the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, a paved oceanfront promenade running roughly two and a half miles along the sand, lined with cafes and walkable from many beachfront hotels. The wide public beach and easy access make it a practical choice for couples planning a small ceremony directly on the shoreline.
For couples arriving from abroad, like Sofie and Kalle from Sweden, Hollywood is convenient: it lies between two major international airports, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL) just to the north and Miami International (MIA) to the south. South Florida's coastal weather can bring passing showers even in fall, so a flexible, drizzle-ready plan is wise for any beach ceremony here. Acromatico photographs weddings across South Florida and New York City and is comfortable shooting through changing coastal conditions.
