Rachel and Joshua married on a South Florida beach in Boca Raton, Florida, on June 9, 2011, photographed by Acromatico. The celebration drew their closest friends, who flew in from New York and North Carolina to be part of the day on the sand.
Acromatico traveled north to Boca Raton to photograph Rachel and Joshua's wedding day on the beaches of South Florida. It was a short and sweet celebration, but with the couple's most intimate friends flying in from New York and North Carolina, the day was a gathering of the people closest to them.
With everyone in one place, Acromatico took the opportunity to photograph all of the guests who had made the trip, capturing the wedding set against the South Florida coastline.
“We headed up north to Boca Raton to witness Rachel and Joshua's big day.”
Good to know
Boca Raton sits in southern Palm Beach County, on Florida's Atlantic coast between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The city is known for its public beaches and oceanfront parks along the A1A corridor, including South Beach Park, Spanish River Park, and Red Reef Park, which give couples direct access to the sand and the Atlantic for ceremonies and portraits.
Because Boca Raton is an easy drive from both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Palm Beach International airports, it is a practical landing spot for out-of-town guests, as it was for Rachel and Joshua's friends arriving from New York and North Carolina. Couples planning a beach wedding here should know that Florida's Atlantic beaches face east, which means soft morning light over the water and softer, backlit conditions later in the day, worth coordinating with your photographer when setting a ceremony time.
