Liam is a five-week-old newborn photographed by Acromatico, the family-run South Florida and New York City studio, for his parents Susie and Alex. At only five weeks old, Liam is the studio's youngest client, the newborn son of a longtime friend and past client of Acromatico.
When Susie and Alex called Acromatico a week before the session to photograph their newborn son, the studio could not say no. Liam, at only five weeks old, is the youngest little client Acromatico has photographed — and the newborn baby of a great friend and past client. After meeting him, the team couldn't take their lenses off of him, falling for his blueish-gray eyes.
It took Liam a little while to get comfortable with the camera. After a few cries, bottles and screams, the camera loved him and he loved the camera right back. He struck some poses, then peacefully fell asleep while the photographers did the hard part.
“After we met him, we couldn't take our lenses off of him — we fell in love with his blueish-gray eyes.”
Good to know
Acromatico is a family-run photography and brand studio founded in 2004, working across South Florida and New York City. The studio's dark, fine-art "Brand Studio" aesthetic carries into family and newborn work, where the focus stays on the subject — in Liam's case, a five-week-old with blueish-gray eyes — rather than on busy backdrops or props.
Newborn sessions are unlike any other shoot: they move at the baby's pace. As Liam's session showed, a newborn may need time to settle, with breaks for bottles and soothing before the camera and the baby find their rhythm. Because Acromatico works in both South Florida and the New York City metro area, families in either region can book a session close to home with the same studio.
