Khadine and Dwayne are a New York couple who flew to Miami Beach, Florida for a destination engagement session in the turquoise Atlantic water, photographed by Acromatico ahead of their Miami destination wedding planned for the following month.
Khadine and Dwayne flew in from New York to have their engagement session in the turquoise waters of Miami Beach, trading the city for the South Florida coastline. They are planning a destination wedding in Miami the following month, making this seaside session the first chapter of a celebration still to come.
Acromatico, a family-run photography and brand studio working across South Florida and New York City since 2004, photographed the couple by the water. With both partners traveling from New York and the wedding itself a destination event, the session captured the couple in the same Miami Beach setting where their wedding will take place.
“They are doing a destination wedding here next month, we can't wait!”
Good to know
Miami Beach is a barrier island city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, separated from the city of Miami by Biscayne Bay and connected by a series of causeways. Its eastern edge faces the Atlantic Ocean, where the shallow, clear water takes on the turquoise tones that draw couples to the shoreline for engagement and wedding photography. The light is strongest and softest in the early morning and the hour before sunset, when the ocean color is most vivid and the midday glare eases.
For couples traveling in for a destination wedding, Miami Beach is roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive from Miami International Airport, with the historic Art Deco District and South Beach within easy reach of the sand. Booking a session at sunrise typically means quieter beaches and cooler temperatures, an advantage in the South Florida heat and a practical consideration for couples flying in from cooler climates like New York.
