Diana and Gaston chose The Kampong, a historic botanical garden in Miami's Coconut Grove, for their after-wedding session with Acromatico, photographed just days after their intimate wedding. It marked the third time they wore their wedding attire in a row.
Acromatico photographed Diana and Gaston only days after their very intimate wedding, returning them to their wedding attire for an after-wedding session in the gardens at The Kampong in Miami. Between nearly falling in the pool, running into spiderwebs, and being attacked by mosquitoes, the session was still a hit.
Most couples are fortunate to wear their wedding attire once or twice. Diana and Gaston got to wear theirs three times in a row. We were grateful they chose us to be part of their special moment, and we genuinely enjoyed the day.
“Typically you're fortunate to wear your wedding attire once or twice, these guys got to wear it three times in a row.”
Good to know
The Kampong is a historic botanical garden in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida, set along the shore of Biscayne Bay. Once the home and plant-collecting grounds of botanist David Fairchild, it is now part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Its dense tropical plantings, fruit trees, and waterfront make it a layered backdrop for wedding and after-wedding portraits.
As Diana and Gaston's session showed, the garden's beauty comes with the realities of a true tropical landscape: narrow paths near the water, spiderwebs, and mosquitoes. Insect repellent, comfortable footwear for uneven ground, and a willingness to wander into the greenery all help. The Kampong operates by reservation, so couples should arrange access and any photography permissions in advance with the garden before booking a shoot date.
