Bessy and Justin's maternity session was photographed by Acromatico in Miami, Florida, split between a beachy theme in their own backyard and the Historic Village of Cauley Square. Bessy was seven months pregnant, and this marked the third time Acromatico photographed the couple after their engagement and wedding.
Acromatico began working with Bessy and Justin when they were only engaged, then photographed their wedding, and now their maternity session ahead of the arrival of their baby, three shoots in a row for the same couple. For the maternity session they chose a beachy theme in their own backyard, then moved to the Historic Village of Cauley Square in Miami to finish.
Bessy was seven months pregnant during the session. After almost two years of marriage, the couple are now growing their family, and Acromatico shares a selection of favorites from the day.
“What a privilege to have been able to shoot these guys 3 times in a row!”
Good to know
The Historic Village of Cauley Square sits in the Goulds area of South Miami-Dade County, Florida, off South Dixie Highway (US-1) near Redland. Established in the early 1900s as a railroad and produce shipping settlement, the village is now a cluster of restored historic buildings set among mature oaks and tropical gardens, a setting whose vintage architecture and greenery makes it a recurring backdrop for portrait, engagement and maternity photography in the southern Miami area.
Bessy and Justin's session shows a practical approach worth borrowing: open with an intimate, personal setting, in their case a beachy theme staged in their own backyard, then drive to a richer location like Cauley Square to add variety and architecture to the same gallery. South Miami-Dade makes this easy, since residential neighborhoods, the Redland agricultural district and historic sites all sit within a short drive of one another.
