Ale, Italo, Matteo and Lorenzo had their maternity session photographed on the water off Bal Harbour, Miami, by Acromatico's in-house photographers Tica and Vanessa. The session was shot from a boat, starting at the Haulover sandbar and ending at a nearby island, celebrating the family's second baby boy on the way.
This was a personal session for the Acromatico family. As Ale and Italo wrote, "It's not everyday we get to take photos of ourselves so we decided to make this post special as our second baby boy is coming soon." Bal Harbour holds a special place for them, since it is where they began their journey as a married couple and where many memories were built. Their in-house photographers Tica and Vanessa documented the day, and the couple noted they could not be happier with the memories they have to keep.
For this maternity session the family tried something completely different: photographs made in the middle of the sea. Their sister Tica was up to the challenge. They started at the Haulover sandbar and ended at a beautiful island nearby, bringing along sons Matteo and Lorenzo for the boat ride. In the couple's own words, "Miami looks best in the water."
“Miami looks best in the water, and we are so thankful and blessed to have our boys enjoy the little boat ride and photos.”
Good to know
Bal Harbour is a small oceanfront village at the north end of Miami Beach in Miami-Dade County, Florida, sitting between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. Just south of it, the Haulover sandbar is a well-known shallow gathering spot inside Haulover Inlet, the channel that separates Bal Harbour from Haulover Park and connects the bay to the ocean. It is reachable by boat and is a popular anchorage for Miami boaters, which makes it a natural launch point for on-the-water portrait sessions before heading to the calmer islands nearby.
If you are planning a water-based maternity or family session in this area, build the day around the boat: a morning departure, a stop to anchor at the sandbar, and time to reach a quieter island for the final frames. Acromatico is a family-run photography and brand studio founded in 2004, working across South Florida and New York City with a dark fine-art aesthetic, and this session was photographed by the studio's own in-house team.
