Susan and Jay celebrated their destination wedding at Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, photographed by Acromatico. Traveling from Virginia Beach, the Italian and Jewish couple held two traditional ceremonies and an intimate oceanfront reception — all planned in just four months.
With only four months to plan their wedding, Susan and Jay chose South Florida for their destination celebration. Coming all the way down from Virginia Beach, this Italian and Jewish couple held two traditional ceremonies to bring together a little of both their worlds.
Their intimate reception took place at the Acqualina Resort & Spa, which offered breathtaking views, while the decorating team produced detailed, beautifully arranged reception settings. Acromatico documented the day right in our own backyard of Miami.
“This Italian and Jewish couple had two traditional ceremonies to have a little bit of both worlds.”
Good to know
Acqualina Resort & Spa is an oceanfront luxury resort in Sunny Isles Beach, a barrier-island city in northeastern Miami-Dade County, Florida. It sits directly on the Atlantic between Bal Harbour to the south and Aventura to the west, putting couples within a short drive of Miami Beach, Bal Harbour Shops, and Miami International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airports.
For out-of-town couples like Susan and Jay, who traveled from Virginia Beach, the resort's beachfront setting and on-site accommodations make it a practical hub for guests flying in. The oceanfront views and event spaces also lend themselves to celebrations that combine more than one tradition — in their case, separate Italian and Jewish ceremonies on a single day. As a family-run studio working across South Florida and New York City since 2004, Acromatico is comfortable photographing layered, multi-ceremony destination weddings in this part of Miami.
