This next blog is a very emotional one. Not only is it our FIRST wedding, FIRST post, but also our FIRST friends of 2016 to get married. You might remember Natalie and Shawn from their firefighter engagement session late last year. Well, their wedding was one word: fire! These guys looked amazing. They said their “I do’s” at the Long Key Nature Center and it all turned out so perfect. We caught some tear jerking moments, so get ready for this one! Congrats again guys, we love you and are so happy to have been part of your big day. Enjoy some of our favorite moments:
Natalie and Shawn were married at Long Key Nature Center in Davie, Florida, photographed by Acromatico, a family-run fine-art photography and brand studio working across South Florida and New York City since 2004. This was the studio's first wedding of 2016 — and the couple's own firefighter engagement session preceded it.
Natalie and Shawn said their "I do's" at Long Key Nature Center in Davie, Florida. Acromatico had photographed the couple before, in a firefighter engagement session late the prior year, and this day marked something of a milestone for the studio: it was their first wedding and first blog post of 2016, and the first of their friends to marry that year.
By the studio's own account the day turned out perfectly, and the camera caught some tear-jerking, emotional moments along the way. For a family-run studio that treats clients as friends, getting to document this particular wedding carried real weight.

Good to know
Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center sits in Davie, in central Broward County, Florida — part of the county's natural areas system in the Greater Fort Lauderdale region. It preserves a remnant of native South Florida habitat, including tropical hardwood hammock and wetland, making it a quieter, greener ceremony setting than the area's beaches or ballrooms.
Davie is roughly twenty to thirty minutes inland from Fort Lauderdale and its airport, and is centrally placed for guests traveling from across Broward and northern Miami-Dade. Couples considering a Long Key Nature Center wedding should plan around Florida's heat and afternoon-rain patterns, and confirm current permit and access rules directly with the Broward County natural areas system, as policies for ceremonies and photography at protected sites can change.
