Melissa and Elias married at the Miami Seaquarium on Virginia Key in Miami, Florida, surrounded by close family and friends. Acromatico photographed the day for couple they have known for years, including a surprise dolphin show that got the guests soaked up close.
Melissa and Elias, affectionately called "Melias," celebrated their wedding at the Miami Seaquarium, where they said their "I do's" with close family and friends. This wedding was personal for Acromatico: we have known Melissa and her family for many years and watched her grow into the bride who got married that day, and it did not take us long to get to know Elias and love him just as much.
As a surprise for their guests, the day included an amazing dolphin show, with the dolphins getting up close and personal, close enough to splash water and soak everyone, cameras included. Congratulations again to Melissa and Elias, with the couple's own hashtag, #melias2016.
“They literally splashed water and soaked us. Don't worry guys, the cameras were ok, at the end that's all that matters.”
Good to know
The Miami Seaquarium is a marine-life park on Virginia Key, a barrier island in Biscayne Bay reached by the Rickenbacker Causeway from the Brickell area of Miami, Florida. Sitting between the City of Miami and Key Biscayne, the venue is a short drive from downtown Miami and Miami International Airport, which makes it convenient for out-of-town guests traveling into South Florida.
An aquarium or marine-park setting like the Seaquarium offers something a traditional ballroom cannot: the surrounding marine life itself becomes part of the celebration. As Melissa and Elias's day showed, a dolphin show can double as live entertainment for guests. If you are planning a wedding here, it is worth coordinating with the park on which animal presentations are available and where guests will be seated, since the splash zone is very real.
