Carolina + Hector · Chima Steakhouse Wedding | Fort Lauderdale, FL

We've known Carolina for years — a dear friend, a gifted hairstylist, and a wonderful mom — so photographing her marry Hector never felt like a job. It felt like standing with family on the best day of their story.

The morning was all the small, tender things: white roses and soft white blooms resting on the bed, her dress catching the light, and her son right in the middle of it — kneeling to buckle her shoe, and later carrying the rings like it was the most important job in the world. Her dad saw her for the first time, pressed a kiss to her forehead, and held her for a moment. We've photographed a lot of first looks over the years — this one stayed with us.

Carolina and Hector said their vows surrounded by the people who love them most — an intimate wedding of close family and their dearest friends — and then celebrated at Chima Steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale. As the sun dropped, the banyan courtyard came alive with strings of warm golden light, and the two of them slipped into their own little world: forehead to forehead, a hand lifted and kissed, a quiet laugh only they were in on.

Dinner was everything we love about Chima — churrasco carved right beside the table, and the Picanha, one of our all-time favorite cuts, done exactly right. When the night wound down, Carolina and Hector stole one last minute alone in the wine cellar, framed floor to ceiling by bottles. Two people who are, without a doubt, meant for one another. We're so happy for them.

“More than a wedding to photograph, it was a day among people we love — witnessing two hearts that so clearly belong together.”
