Angelica and Huy married at the Hilton in Key Largo, Florida, a destination beach wedding the New York couple planned to escape the cold. Acromatico photographer Alessandro photographed the day, making the most of a sunset that lasted only about five minutes on the South Florida shore.
Angelica and Huy escaped the cold weather in New York and ran away to the beaches of South Florida for a destination wedding at the Hilton in Key Largo, Florida. The sunset roughly lasted five minutes, and despite the short timing they took advantage of the stunning scenery on the water.
Acromatico photographer Alessandro photographed the wedding and captured the gorgeous scenery once again. He never fails to amaze the Acromatico team, and we were extremely happy to have him along for Angelica and Huy's day in Key Largo.
“Angelica and Huy escaped the cold weather in New York to run away to the beautiful beaches in South Florida.”
Good to know
Key Largo is the northernmost and largest of the Florida Keys, sitting at the top of the island chain along U.S. Highway 1 about an hour south of Miami. As the closest Key to mainland South Florida, it is one of the most accessible destination-wedding spots in the Keys for couples traveling in from out of state, the way Angelica and Huy did from New York. Its Atlantic-and-bay setting is known for waterfront resorts, calm shorelines and the wide-open western horizons that make for fast, dramatic sunsets over Florida Bay.
Because Key Largo faces west toward Florida Bay, sunset light there can arrive and disappear quickly, as it did for Angelica and Huy. Couples planning a beach ceremony at a Key Largo resort like the Hilton should build their timeline around that short golden window and ask their photographer to scout the waterfront in advance so the key portrait moments line up with the light. Acromatico is a family-run photography and brand studio working across South Florida and New York City, the two regions that bookended this couple's wedding.
