He reserved a bookstore. She loves books. Hid a love story book in the shelves and then hid the ring inside a box that looked like a book. Binnacle Books in Beacon, NY. This is where Hector proposed to Elle (virtually), because you know, covid.
Fast forward to their engagement session, only a few days before their upcoming wedding in Boston. Right in that same Bookstore where she said: YES! Our friends at Binnacle Books were so kind as to let us make a reservation to shoot their engagement session in this special place.
We then walked around Beacon, quickly stopped at Glazed Over Donuts, because you know, you donut say no to donuts!
It was definitely a challenge racing after the sun especially with the time change. Elle and Hector just went with it and were so easy to work with. She said she was a little “camera shy” but I didn’t buy it. She quickly eased into it and they barely even felt I was there. This is such a KEY thing to do before your wedding. Book an engagement session. It makes a HUGE difference for your wedding day. Once you’re warmed up to the camera it’ll be so much easier on your big day.
Fun fact. I hate being in front of the camera. We too took engagement photos (with Acromatico as well! Shot out to Ale and Italo) and it sure made it easier for me to be a bit less camera shy on the day of our wedding.
Another fun fact. It was supposed to rain. I told them to bring a cute umbrella, so they did, because they’re awesome! It was also clear. Double awesome! OF COURSE, it didn’t end up raining. I couldn’t let the umbrella go to waste. I snatched Hector’s water bottle and we made it rain. Literally splashed them with water. Was it worth it? They froze. They got wet. But I definitely think it was worth it. Most importantly, the umbrella was used 🙂
Enjoy some of my faves from this Beacon engagement session.
