Connecticut Micro Wedding | Tammy + Tay

For this next post, I got to work once again with Tammy and Tay, this time, for their Connecticut Micro Wedding.

You might remember these cuties from their fabulous Cold Spring engagement sesh in early May. I made them get in the water and get a little wet and they totally rocked with it.

For their wedding, we did something a little similar..except it was kind of not predicted, unwanted and definitely not planned: It RAINED. They got wet. Did it for the gram, jk! They did do it for me and the love of art 🙂

Ok. So this is where we need to get real and have a r e a l talk:

Your wedding will NOT ever go as planned. If it does, good! One thing you will never ever be able to predict is the weather. These are the things you risk also while having an outdoor wedding. As much planning as you can do, you can never plan for this. Will it sprinkle? Will it pour? No one will ever know. What I do know is rain never stops me. I will always make sure to go above and beyond in any creative way to make your wedding photos be YOU and express y o u r wedding day through images.

Emotions live in photos. Moments get captured. Rain doesn’t ever stop that.

Did I get wet? Yes. Was I prepared? Not fully. Why? Because I didn’t know the duration of the rain, how heavy it would pour, the exact location of the wedding, how much space I have to work with. These are all things as photographers we always strive to be creative with. I live for the unknown and intend to shine in the rain. No matter what, I want my couples to still be able to look back at their wedding day (rain or thunder) and remember “them”. Remember how they looked. Most importantly, remember how they felt.

I have to say, we truly need to normalize more weekday micro weddings. They’re absolutely intimate and a true delight. For Tammy and Tay, having most of their closest family and friends to celebrate their union was just perfect.

It rained. It poured. They shined. All smiles.

Thank you Tammy and Tay for letting me capture the most important parts of your micro wedding and for giving me your smiles and warmth on this rainy day.

Enjoy some of my favorites from this Connecticut micro wedding:
